This cookie policy describes which cookies and similar techniques are used on the website bryntra.com and in the application app.bryntra.com, and why this is permitted without a consent banner. It forms part of the privacy policy of Bryntra B.V. (Dutch Chamber of Commerce no. 42133268). This document is an English translation of the Dutch cookieverklaring; in the event of any discrepancy, the Dutch version prevails.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website and read back on a subsequent visit. Similar techniques — such as localStorage and sessionStorage — also store information in the browser. Where this policy refers to "cookies", those techniques are included.
2. Our principle: no tracking
- 2.1We set no tracking or advertising cookies and no third-party cookies that follow visitors across websites.
- 2.2We measure visitor statistics with Vercel Web Analytics. This measurement is cookieless: no cookie is set, no fingerprinting takes place and no visitor profiles are built; we only see aggregated figures.
- 2.3All cookies we do use are functionally necessary, or — like the partner attribution cookie — have no or only negligible impact on privacy.
3. Cookies on bryntra.com (the website)
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| br_aff | bryntra.com (first-party) | Partner attribution: remembers through which partner link (bryntra.com/a?ref=…) you reached us, so the partner can receive a commission if you become a customer. Contains only a partner code and a date; not readable by scripts (httpOnly), shared with no one and does not follow you across other websites. Only set if you arrive through a partner link. | at most 60 days |
| cf_clearance and similar (Cloudflare Turnstile) | Cloudflare (on forms) | Bot protection: verifies on our forms that you are human — without puzzles and without tracking. Any technical cookies serve only that check. | session to short-lived |
4. Cookies in the application (app.bryntra.com)
The application uses functional cookies only; without them the application cannot work (signing in and staying signed in would be impossible):
| Name | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| sb-* (session cookies) | Authentication: keeps you securely signed in; the session is refreshed periodically and securely. | for the duration of the session; renews while you remain actively signed in |
| gf_active_workspace | Remembers which workspace you are working in. | up to 1 year |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers your language preference. | up to 1 year |
| invitation cookie | Securely (httpOnly) carries your invitation link through to onboarding during registration. | at most 30 days (equal to the validity of the invitation link) |
5. Why no cookie banner?
- 5.1Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act — the Dutch implementation of the ePrivacy rules — requires consent for setting or reading cookies, with two exceptions: cookies strictly necessary for the requested service, and cookies with no or only negligible impact on privacy.
- 5.2All cookies listed in this policy fall under one of those exceptions: the application and security cookies are strictly necessary, and the partner attribution cookie serves only the settlement of partner commissions and has negligible privacy impact. A consent banner is therefore not required.
- 5.3Should we ever start using cookies that do require consent, we will request that consent beforehand, informed and per category, and update this policy.
6. Managing or deleting cookies
Through your browser settings you can view, delete and block cookies, per website or in general. Consult your browser's help pages (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) for the exact steps. Keep in mind that the application is unusable without functional cookies: you would not be able to stay signed in, for example.
7. Changes
If our cookie use changes — for example through new functionality — we will update this policy and adjust the date and version number where necessary. For changes that require consent, we will act in accordance with section 5.3.
